Veteran’s Day

by Cambree Davis

Laurel High School has an annual tradition in which students and staff will line the school’s front yard with American flags. These flags are to honor our veterans and recognize them for all their efforts in protecting our country. The flags are extra special because each one is individually sponsored and dedicated to a veteran. On the stick of the flag a tag including the veterans name is secured on to show recognition for their service in fighting to keep America safe. These flags are Laurel’s way of paying respects to veterans and showing our gratitude.

This tradition is all organized by Laurel’s Social Studies department. Thank you veterans!
