What to do on Break!
by Bridget Hartle
Christmas break is coming faster than ever this year, Spartans. This means family and friends cozying up next to the fireplace, sipping hot chocolate, and watching movies. It's always good to have ideas of what to do over break during the cold season. And just maybe that Christmas spirit will get you to try something new to end your 2025!
Have a Movie Marathon- Pick out some holiday classics and some of everyone's favorite movies. To make it even more fun, pick up to 6-7 movies and spin a wheel to decide what movie to watch.
Baking- Everyone loves a good sweet treat. Get friends/family together and make some of your favorite desserts. Play some Christmas music, make a mess, and just have fun
Decorate your room- Get into that cozy spirit! Decorate your place to make it feel like home. Put some lights up (I hope that tree is up and decorated by now) light some candles, and get some festive pillows and blankets.
Read a new book or series- Dive into a new book/series. It’s always good to open a fresh book to ease your mind. It’s break, so no school and if you're lucky no work, so get cozy in bed and crack open a book, and just relax. And get that brain working.
Self-Care day- You get time to yourself. Take that time to relax and do something fun. Take that day to breathe and do something you enjoy. You deserve it!
New Year, New Me- We all know about the “New Year, New Me”. This year, let's set some new goals and make a bucket list. Make 2026 worthwhile. Try something new. And every time you complete a goal, treat yourself.
Game days- Game days are always fun when you have them with people you enjoy the company of. So have a few game days. Whether it's playing a video game with friends or family you haven’t seen in months, maybe even years. Or play a board game with friends and family that you see often. Make a tradition of it and don’t forget to get a little competitive. (See who the better player is)
Merry Christmas, Spartans, and have a Happy Holiday and a wonderful New Year
See you again in 2026!
