Photography Field Trip

by Jayden Wallace

Laurel’s photography students had the opportunity to visit Slippery Rock University for a tour around the art department and learn tips and tricks about photography. The students learned many things that go into photography, such as film, dark rooms, and pinhole cameras. Each student learned how to make a DIY pinhole camera, and also got a picture of them taken. Later every student was able to develop the picture taken from the pinhole camera, in different chemicals while in the dark room. The photography kids discovered contrasting chemicals to develop a picture and specific lighting so the photo doesn’t get messed up. While developing a photograph it's all about trial and error on how the final picture will turn out. All students were able to develop their films.
