SOTM JJ McBride

JJ McBride has been named February’s Student of the Month in recognition of his outstanding achievements both academically and extracurricularly.
Throughout his high school career, McBride has been a dedicated student-athlete, participating in football and baseball for four years. In addition, he has been a member of Men United football for two years. Beyond athletics, he has demonstrated a strong commitment to the arts, performing in school musicals such as Legally Blonde and The Addams Family. McBride is also actively involved in Youth Alive and Varsity L.
Among his biggest accomplishments are earning placement on the High Honor Roll, receiving All-Section honors in both football and baseball, and competing in the WPIAL championship game. Reflecting on his high school experience, McBride recalls his favorite memory as hitting a walk-off single against OLSH during his freshman year.
After graduation, McBride plans to further his education, although he is still considering his options. He intends to pursue a career in special education. He credits his family and friends as his greatest supporters throughout his journey.
When asked to offer advice to underclassmen, McBride shared, “Do not be afraid to try new things or speak to new people; you never know who or what might positively impact your life.”
